ESTONIAN POLICE AND BORDER GUARD ORCHESTRA,
conductor Hando Põldmäe is a collective body of 34 professional 
musicians representing the Police and Border Guard Board. The 
Orchestra was established in 2010 by joining the former Police 
Orchestra and Estonian Border Guard Orchestra. 
The range of performances of the Orchestra is wide and the calendar 
of concerts is many-sided in style. It includes performances on 
events of the Police and Border Guard Board as well as on national 
events, concerts on music festivals and in concert halls. We have 
had cooperation with many Estonian beloved musicians, soloists 
and groups and we have issued a lot of discs. The Orchestra has 
also participated in several festivals outside Estonia, including in 
Australia, Canada, Spain, Germany, Finland, Russia, Denmark, the 
Netherlands, Lithuania.

Hando Põldmäe is conductor of the Estonian Police and Border 
Guard Orchestra. He started his musical career as a trombone player 
in Estonian Radio Big-Band and Tallinn Philharmonic Orchestra. 
Several years was he member of the Estonian National Opera 
Orchestra.
Hando Põldmäe has been a chief conductor of the Virumaa Youth 
and Virumaa Concert Orchestra and of the Georg Otsa Music 
School Symphony and Wind Orchestra in Tallinn. He has been also 
chief conductor in Estonian Orchestra Conductors Wind Band and 
conductor of Estonian Police Orchestra . Today he is conducting 
Harju Strings Orchestra, Harjumaa Symphony Orchestra and 
Estonian Orchestra Conductors Wind Band. He made premiers for 
many Estonian compositions written by J. Rääts, R. Eespere, T. 
Aints, Ü. Krigul, T. Kaumann, T. Kozlova, M. Tally, R. Rannap.
He led differen orchestras in concert tours in Russia, Finland, 
Sweden, Germany, France, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Latvia and 
Lithuania. He was a leader of Wind Bands in Finish-Estonian 
Song Celebration in Pori 2007. He has been a conductor in several 
Estonian Song Celebrations where he conducted the orchestras 
which consisted more than two thousand players.
